"Taylor Swift - American singer, songwriter, and 12 times Grammy Award winner, is currently touring across 4 countries and has 29 upcoming concerts. It has been almost 8 years since I last watched her during, the 1989 World Tour at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. I am happy to learn that she'll be heading to the Singapore National Stadium for three shows in March 2024.

In 2011, I attended her “Speak Now” World Tour and she took to the stage wearing a sexy champagne-colored dress. Taylor delivered exactly what the crowd wanted, lots of hits. The staging was strong and the ginormous video monitor directly behind gave an intimacy to the performance that perfectly connected with the fans.

I recalled another great concert where the country-pop darling played to a sold-out crowd during “The Red Tour” in 2014. Gosh, the hype speaks for itself, and how she commanded an entire army of fans, 12,000 strong and sent us all into her Red World. The entire show was great. Taylor really knows how to please the audience by reaching out to all levels of seats and making you feel like you are important. The music was fun and everyone enjoyed it.. all ages!

The Red Tour was one night I’ll never forget till The 1989 World Tour tops it. It was even better. What a smashing show! Taylor oozed confidence on stage - non-stop fun, pure and simple. What a joy seeing the singer-songwriter leading a dozen dancers in a rousing medley of songs from this highly anticipated gig like Welcome To New York, The New Romantic and Blank space taken off her fifth album 1989, and the venue was awash in sea of vivid images of Taylor captured by mobile phones.

With those naturally tailored legs, she could sing and move

sensually in swiftness and style.

Hi Andy, It is an achievement to be able to sustain the interest of even 2000 people a month on a regular basis on any given topic. What you have done could not be the result of a faint heart or a lame endeavour. It takes passion and consistency to incessantly create stories that your international readership can relate to and is stimulating enough to make them keep coming back to your blog for more. Your enthusiasm for your work makes the difference! Without it, there would be no zest! Like Coke without the bubbles! Flat! BUBBLE GUM MUSIC & THE BAN IN SINGAPORE

Remember bubblegum music from around 1967 to 1972? Or was it bubblegum rock, bubblegum pop, or simply bubblegum. It was a genre of pops with an upbeat sound marketed to appeal to teenagers. Popular groups like 1910 Fruitgum Company, The Ohio Express and The Archies were representative of bubblegum music and the most successful bubblegum song was Sugar, Sugar. Afterwards in 1969 bubble gum singer Tommy Roe came along, sang Dizzy and it became a hit. Bubble gum too was banned in Singapore. JIMMY CHNG [DRUMMER OF DECIBELS SAID: Bubble gum music with their lively and bouncy beat can effectively perk you up whenever you're feeling glum. I believe there was a minister who made a remark in parly probably during the motion to ban the sale of chewing gum here? He likened chewing gummers to cows chewing cud! Explaining the existence of the RED RIVER VALLEY, both river and song and their origins. This blog has been rejuvenated because of additional information. Also the song Red River Valley has been made popular in Singapore in the 2000's. I have been singing a rock interpretation, one which has never been done before (correct me). Only the country n western one and the rock instrumental have been recorded by many pop artistes. I have since included the song which is on You Tube; it is the song after 'Diana' during our concert at the Orchid Country Club Singapore in 2009. Hope you all enjoy it. ''Hi Andy, I am an undergraduate student majoring in music teaching, and in the course of my studies, I was introduced to and became interested in Singapore's popular music scene in the 60s. Incidentally, "Freedom", was one of the songs played to us during our lesson. I feel really lucky that I am able read the stories of the people who wrote this song, and no less from the lead singer himself. I must thank both Byrt Mallanyk for writing about his experience and yourself for creating this blog. Sadly, as a Singaporean youth, I too share the sentiments that the valuable experiences and personal histories of the past are under-appreciated today. In fact, it had never occurred to me that Singapore actually had a popular music scene in the 60s before I learnt about them in school. I really appreciate your blog as I enjoy the stories of Singapore's music scene that would have been otherwise left undocumented.
