December 2020 Ends A Challenging Covid Year - Highlights - Celebrity Quiz

The Decibels from the 60's with drummer Jimmy Chng who wrote articles about the group on this blog.

Has much been done to rid the country of plastic bags. There are still many more around in Singapore.
STEPHEN HAN donated these pictures about the song books he collected during the 60's.

This poster was for friends who are on WHATSAPP since they are in touch with me most times. Thanks.
'A Christmas Selection' - FROM 1965. Thanks to YouTube Video.

When music surrounds 3 friends who keep in touch, not for business but camaraderie... Jimmy Yap, singing and travelling ambassador, has sung in mostly all countries that he visited. Eddy Eng loves the Silver Strings so much he has attended their concerts since the mid-20s.

More pictures of friends will be added day by day but I cannot include many so I'll just play by mindfulness and what comes on the way of photographs and convenience.

Photographs are of people who have specially appeared in this year's [2020] postings and articles. Thanks very much guys.

 BRAIN TEASER

Can you guess the names of these very famous people... They are in the news nearly every day and definitely on YouTube...

ANSWERS ARE ON COMMENT PAGE. CLICK AT THE END OF THIS PAGE.

Another song book covers from STEPHEN HAN. Thank you sir for your articles and photographs.
Much competition to be famous and rich in our society. Complement, not compete.

Two tertiary students who make this blog worthwhile. We chatted a lot about youth and seniors. Thanks to Eunice who wrote to me asking, 'Andy, are you ok. I don't see postings lately.' This one's for you Eunice [right]. On the right is Megan.
Cedric Collars, an accomplished pianist and keyboardist, who lives in Perth Australia today. He hailed from Siglap in Singapore and contributes comments and posts very often.

Ronald Ho whose brother was from the famous CRESCENDOS, has a group called THE MELTONES.
Vivian Nonis who passed away this year [2020] of old age. One of the best guitar players from the 50's and beyond. Vivian was an excellent tutor too, having taught many musicians in his fold.
Dr Eriko Ogihara-Schuck who wrote to the blog to find out about our musicians who played Hawaiian melodies in the 60's. She is a university professor in Germany. She has connected with a few people who are familiar with the topic.
Carolyn Gan appreciates this blog too. She stands 2nd right to Michelle Obama in one of the US Women's National Conferences she organizes. Carolyn's dad writes for this blog often.
This picture was taken in 2009 with the Orchid Country line-up where we appeared with Europe's Beatles Tribute Artistes. Great entertainer and guitarist BOBO, who stands beside me, has since passed away. Audie Ng [band leader/bassist] stands 3rd left.
Michael Bangar, who contributes to this blog, is always supportive of the 60's music boys and girls he plays with, even today.

Mrs Daisy Koh, who has always supported this blog since it started many years ago, makes informative comments to help in the knowledge-based postings she reads.
Ms Dawn Tan needs no introduction. My wife and I are firm CNA news viewers when Dawn presents the news pieces on Media Corps. Picture has been taken from her trip to the US in the recent US Trump/Biden 2020 Election.
Students who are still in touch with me, some married and with children, while others write articles on this blog too.
I must thank this group of friends who obliged so quickly to mask themselves and be identified later in a quiz.

The Meltones, a 60's band under the leadership of Ronald HO. They are quite a formidable group and still playing to this day with the same line-up.

Gems, I call them; students who kept in touch after 25 years and more. Usually Yen Chow is the lady who organises the lunches, etc. Thanks Yen [top-right].

More pictures of friends in music in next week's postings. Thanks so much for scrolling this far.

Years may come, years may go (Herman's Hermits) but as life goes on (Naomi and the Boys). what's another year (Johnny Logan)? Life is a song worth singing (Johnny Mathis), sing (The Carpenters)! Blessed Christmas greetings and a Happy New Year to you, Andy and all loved ones. Cheers!
