I was crazily consuming comic books as a child, reading Batman, Superman, Plastic Man, Captain Marvel  and my favourite lady superhero, Wonder Woman. So engrossed in these colourful, attractive, addictive magazines that I forgot breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner. Homework was left aside as a last minute jeopardy time and done in convenience within a few minutes. And my own wonder woman, - wonderful mum - shakes her head in despair.

The addiction went on to living room craze in the 70s and 80s, watching her again, enacted by the beautiful and magnificent Queen Lynda Carter.  These episodes lasted for a while, and then in  2016, Gal Gadot came along to take over the role. She is an enigmatic choice for the part, strong, remarkable and definitely eye-candy for her fans. A wonder lady from Israel. Whew...

On 21st October, 2021, Wonder Woman celebrates her 80th.

In my opinion I don't people would accept if Wonder Woman don't look stunningly beautiful with a beautiful face, figure and appropriate size..
Cheerio.

Andy Young
Michael Lee , you're absolutely right.
In real life, they both won Ms. World and Ms. Israel beauty queen titles.
CHEERS.

As a child, I was very lucky to have a rich neighbour friend who owned many Dell Comics and would happily loan them to me.

I don't know why but I somehow liked GREEN LANTERN over the rest of the super heroes. As an aside, during my working life, there was a lady colleague from another department who bore an great resemblance [both in looks and physique] to Lynd Carter and was thus nicknamed Wonder Woman

I believe many of us would have had friends or colleagues who bear resemblance to famous personalities be they pop singers, actors, politicians, etc.

In my earlier years in the same organisation where I worked, we had a JACK PALANCE and a MICKEY ROONEY.

Oh wow Jimmy,

Thanks, that's a beautiful memory to share.
I like GREEN LANTERN too but found BATMAN best, ordinary guy with parents killed so young.
Man... such nostalgia.

Ooooh, I used to watch Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman way back on TV and thought she was so beautiful.

I don't remember Gal Gadot.
What year was she in.

Wen Hing,
this piece is definitely inspired by my WONDER WOMAN post on the blog.
For sure. That's what art is all about.
The creativity must have been triggered by either Lynda Carter or Gal Gadot. 😅

Andy
now that you mention that - yes!

It certainly has all the curves and shapeliness of the wonders of women 😅

Oh, yes of course I know who she is.
It sort of slipped my mind when I thought it was someone in the 70s era.

When Wonder Woman appeared on our TV in the 1980s (?), I rmbr we were all excited and did not want miss it ! At that time, we didn't have the benefit of Internet, and there were not repeat telecast on TV like now. But of us have watched Superman and Batman (and Spiderman?) but Wonder Woman is a female lead and that's made the difference ! Happy Birthday, Wonder Woman !

Thanks FL for another visit.
Yours is always very special, a family visit so to speak.
Yes, she is a wonder isn't she and at 80 just as remarkable, powerful and beautiful.
Happy Birthday for another lifetime I guess.
But we won't be around.

STAY SAFE FL.

Joey
thanks for the nostalgic comment.
Yes, we all love WW, and like Freda mentioned, 'indeed a great wonder'.
These super hero/heroines take us to the depth of our own make-belief world, where we ourselves become invincible.
