OLD NEWS:
It is not a surprise that a number of pop singers may not want to perform at Donald Trump's Inauguration as the 45th President of the U.S. but it is shocking that there are so many artistes who refused the offer.
Here is the list gathered from newspapers, magazines and the internet of artistes from the 1960's onward who will probably not appear:
Adam Lambert - 2000's
Andrea Bocelli - 1990's
Beyonce - 1990's
Bruce Springsteen - 1960's
Celine Dion - 1980's
Charlotte Church - 1990's
Cher - 1960's
David Foster - 1970's
Dixie Chicks - 1980's (Pix 3)
Garth Brooks - 1980's
Jennifer Lopez - 1980's (Pix 4)
Jon Bon Jovi - 1970's
Kiss - 1970's
Lady Gaga - 2000's
Marie Osmond - 1970's
Mortley Crue - 1980's
Paul Anka - 1960's
Rick Astley - 1980's (Pix 5)
Radio City Rockettes - 1920's (Pix 2)
75% of the singers and groups are from the 60's - 80's, experienced, very popular and crowd gatherers but the uncertainty is in. They might not appear and some confirmed they will not.
Let's listen to one comment, at least, from somebody who was here in Singapore just two years ago.
"Let's see how big the cheque is," he was quoted as saying and with much honesty that is in the gentleman. Rick-rollin' expert Rick Astley added that an American President's inauguration wasn't the right place for a British artiste to be.
Another big name, Paul Anka, who had been asked by Mr Trump personally, could not re-schedule himself for the big night because of personal commitment but it would have been wonderful to hear Anka sing, My Way during the ceremony.
There are some other artistes who will not be appearing but I am not familiar with them. Knowing Mr Donald J. Trump, he may have a few trump cards up his sleeves, so let's wait and see. There are still four days more. He may come up with his Four Aces.
What about you? Would you, as a band or a solo singer and musician, perform for Donald Trump? Why not? Why isn't everyone giving him a chance? After all it's just entertainment for the night. You are not endorsing his political gymnastics.

All information have been taken from the Internet and I cannot be responsible if schedules and artistes' appearance are changed from time to time. Please do not depend on this posting for the evening's inauguration programme.

Are performers scared to be associated with him? They might get targeted by Muslim jihadists, Mexican bandits, homosexual rapists...
To scared to be associated with him.
There are too many world renowned artists out there. As for those who openly say they will not perform, would have their own reason and nobody knows or maybe he prefers orchestra music or even classical moments. It is just a guessing game as all have individual opinion.
Time will tell.
Has Trump been a true gentleman, speak with dignity project himself with honour like a head of state should? I'm sure these artists will reschedule their dates and dying to get a piece of Trump's pie.
For artistes to postpone or reschedule dates are always in their contracts but when someone as as rough as Trump asks for it, excuses are bound to be plenty so better to let the show to go on.
Give him time to prove or disprve himself and face impeachment a la Richard Nixon
C'est la vie!
The American people have spoken and have decided. They will have to live with their decision until the next US election. Having said that, as an outsider looking in, between Trump and Clinton I will choose Trump with no hesitation!
The Clinton Foundation is run by crooks. The husband and wife team would make our local corrupted officials look like boy scouts!
Good Luck to President-elect Donald Trump.
Edited.
The inauguration is more about electing the next president n less about which Hollywood star is coming or not coming on stage. Hollywood is a stronghold of DNC n out to scuttle his presidency. But this will be hollow because Trump already won the presidency.
More worrisome is the street protest that is planned that will mar the event. However, with Trump's capacity to deal, u will not be surprised to see a spectacular inauguration come 20 January. A must watch event of the year.
When Rick Astley was in Singapore appearing in Rollin Good Times @ Media Corp Studios The Silver Strings were together in a performance with him.
Picture shows John Cher and Audie Ng, drummer and bassist for the band, backstage.
Maybe US President-elect Trump doesn't pay or has not paid his bills. Would you ? Just my thoughts for what it's worth :)
This is one President not beholden to the Lobbyist. He has the MONEY. Money is Power, Knowledge is Secondary.
Many thanks folks for the interesting comments, and some political ones too. It's good to engage within the topic suggested but sometimes comments just go beyond borders. Which is not a bad thing.
My ideal: just give Donald Trump a chance and if he doesn't perform, there's the next election. Might be a bit late though. But I see his good sides.
The music makers. Wow!!! If only some of them could come for our kind of inauguration. Would be a masterpiece of musical art at the Floating Bay.

One of the many good things about Trump's forthcoming Presidency is that he won't be wasting his time with entertainment industry dead heads. One of the most demeaning aspects of Obama's stint, was his pitiful desire to embrace the latest Hollywood dolt.
Trump will be well advised to concentrate on jobs, infrastructure and border security. If he gets that right, the Hollyweirdies can go hang.

Nancy Sinatra tweeted earlier on the same day: "Trump has very bad judgement. It's going to be a rough ride."
Frank Sinatra "would never support a bigot", said his daughter Nancy after being asked if he would perform if Trump requested it. The 'Boots Are Made For Walking' singer has been vocal in her views.
Hooray for Jackie Evancho who stood up for her belief to perform for President-elect Trump just like the others who declined to do it because of their beliefs. Jackie by performing will help to bring recognition to the transgender population like her sister Juliet Evancho.
Thank you Henri for your important contribution. I have never heard of Jackie Evancho since I stopped following the series and appreciate your information. Surprised actually.
Madonna on Trump :"... he's actually doing us a good service, because we have gone as low as we can go. We can only go up from here, so what are we going to do ? We have two choices, destruction or creation. I chose creation."
Just give him a chance. He has 4 years.
It was a lovely inauguration with beautiful songs I heard played and sung by some great artistes. Went to be at 3 am.
