Jerry Fernandez Neu Faces Be A Rock Dont Roll

"Across fourteen countries and two continents... Setting us apart from the rest of the pack..." It's here. After more than four years of hard work, Jerry Fernandez's book, To Be A Rock But Not To Roll, will hit the bookshops after its launch on Sunday 12th July, 2009, at the Quality Hotel Singapore at Balestier Road.

Opening the book to look at the inside front cover, there is this beautiful map of Orchard Road, highlighting the venues or 'hot spots' where Jerry & The Neu Faces performed from 1968 to 1994. Impressive!

Haven't read the book yet but flipping through the pages, it is user friendly, has loads of photographs and information about Jerry's life, from the time he was a teenager, his years as a soccer lover and, more importantly, his established role as a musician both in Singapore and the world. He has also documented friends and colleagues who helped him along the way, on his life journey as a pop DJ, MC, singer, musician and business man. Sounds promising and could be a great read...

Books on 60s music, from Singapore or otherwise, will always interest surfers who read this blog, but this blog does not promote sales.

This is a great book that I've read on the musical journey of Singapore. It's one of the best local musical books. It reveals a lot of historical facts about this person, Jerry Fernandez and the Neu Faces. I was very impressed with his travels to places like Europe, Middle East and Asia. This is really an incredible mission for him and his band. Hope to hear more from him! Thanks for all the memories that has been recollected. You also welcome all the other bands along your journey and that was also interesting for me to know, thoug I was not born in that era but my parents have confirmed the facts. Thank you once again.

Well done Jerry. Read the blog from Andy about your book. This was about the time when I was performing in Sunsvall or Goternberg in Sweden.
I was so glad to find you, a Sporean looking for me when you found out that I was there. Best of luck and blessings to you and your group. Take care and stay safe Jerry🙏

Correct me if I am wrong. I think the above comment comes from DANNY KOH, pianist extraordinaire from Singapore.

Thank you Danny.
