*Goodbye Jimmy goodbye
We'll see you again
But we don't know when
Goodbye Jimmy goodbye...
A note from Larry Lai [former Rediffusion DJ, Singapore] today shocked many of us in the music community. It read, "With a heavy heart I share the news of Jimmy Chan's passing."
Truly one of the best pianists around in Singapore. Unassuming, he played anything from pops to jazz; Chinese hits to keroncong-styled Indonesian melodies and of course dance music. And when he plays, no cumbersome notes to guide him; he just lets his heart synchronize with the tunes and his fingers glide on the piano keys.

# Directly translated to "life in pink", "La Vie En Rose" essentially means seeing life through rose-coloured glasses. Living with an attitude or outlook of positivity, trying to see beauty in the everyday; like you do when you first fall in love.
Good morning, Andy, Another legend has left us. It makes me cherish and treasure my time with friends and loved ones more and more. You have a great day ahead.
Jimmy is a giant among musicians- he not only played ‘by heart’ but always with heart. I am privileged to have shared many years with him in the late 50’s to early 60’s. and so happy that we spent times together pre Covid. He added THE dimension to the Flamingos that changed it into the band it became. Thanks for touching my life. Goodbye buddy
It’s only a temporary farewell my dear long time friend. We will certainly meet again in God’s Heavenly Realm soon. My sincere and heartfelt thanks for blessing us with your beautiful music.
We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when. But I’ll know we’ll meet again some sunny day. 😊
Maestro pianist JIMMY CHAN will be missed by many - forever in my heart though. Greatly honored to be accompanied by him at his birthday party and sang 'O Sole Mio'. I will always treat this as my tribute to a great pianist that has done Singapore proud.

MAKE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC UP THERE.
A GREAT ENTERTAINING PIANIST
Was talking about Jimmy a few days ago with Charles who was the leader of the band in those early days, called, THE FLAMINGOS.
I just heard it too.
Very sad.
Brian Richmond played a piano piece from the late JIMMY CHAN on 90.5 this morning.
It was beautiful.
Maestro.
One and only.
Jimmy puts the rest in his pocket.
A pianistic 'touch' and artistry that many can only dream of possessing. The heavens now have an extra twinkle added. Rest in Eternal Peace Jimmy.
Sad to hear another music artist has left us.

The above tribute is from DR CHARLES KOH who lives in the US.
Dr Koh was the band leader of the well-renowned combo band, THE FLAMINGOS.
Thanks Charles.

I've never listened to him playing before but from the many comments, I reckon he's a maestro on the keyboard RIP JIMMY CHAN.
Learnt about JIMMY's passing yesterday, Andy.

Devastating news!!!
Jimmy was easy to talk to. Completely guileless.
Yes, I used to spend some evenings relaxing at he lounge at the MANDARIN HOTEL when he was playing there. Got to know him from there too.
Great pianist and a wonderful guy.
Absolutely Andy. He's got no airs even though at that time he was already an accomplished musician, a true professional. Larry is correct on that.
Condolences to Jimmy's family and loved ones. Jimmy was a talented musician. RIP Jimmy
R.I.P. Jimmy Chan. I remember buying his cassette tapes. Loved his piano renditions of popular songs.
Condolences to Jimmy's family and loved ones. RIP brother .
