Congratulation on your 12th anniversary.
Thank you for the perseverance in keeping the blog alive.
It is one of the few places left where we can maintain our memory of SG music heritage. Actually, the writeup and contribution from your blog can be compiled into a book.
That would be another story to be considered on another time.
Keep up the good work.
Best wishes for your future endeavour in keeping it alive.
We will continue to contribute as and when our memory can remember the subject in discussion. CHEERS.

Andy Young, ex-school teacher, ex-NTU/NIE lecturer, member of the still active local Silver Strings that was formed in the 60's, celebrated the 12th Anniversary of his 60's Music Blog that has garnered more than 2 million readership worldwide since it began.

If you are interested in the history of the 60's music scene in SG, his blog is a must read because he is able to weave in interesting anecdotes of the historical and social living environment of 60's SG into the music theme of his articles.

Congratulations Andy 🎉🎊👏

In 1982,I had the great pleasure of meeting Larry Lai and his colleague Peter Boudewyn when Larry owned and operated Soundlabs recording studio.
I was in Singapore for three weeks, meeting with the Singapore Broadcasting Corp, and a few advertising agencies.

I was introduced to Larry who made me quite at home in his studio, and we recorded some radio commercials together, really enjoyed ourselves.
I plan on returning to Singapore in the not too distant future, and am wondering if anyone might know how to reach Mr. Larry Lai as of now?

Thanks, and kind regards!

Hey Andy,
in the eastern and western horoscope the 12 signs complete one cycle, and they are read and taken seriously.
Congrats for capturing your followers on your first round - a no mean task. Here's to the second.

Hi Andy,
firstly congrats for your blog on its 12 years.

I happen to stumble on to your blog as I'm researching for music for a play in my church.

Can I ask for your help, to point me in a general direction as to what music would a well-to-do Peranakan family listens to on a radio in the 60's? like what kind of band or singers?

Thank you for your time and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

You can reach me at

thanks and regards
