Jeff Beck R.I.P. - From English Rock Enthusiasts In Singapore

Jeff Beck
24 June 1944 - 10 January 2023

One of the best, if not the best. Geoffrey Arnold Beck is gone at 78 years young... So my tribute on this blog. And a comment from a local legend himself, acknowledging his passing:

"Oh no. Please not Jeff Beck! So sad to hear this awful news. RIP Jeff Beck. May you soar above the heavens with your awesome talents.

The definition of the ultimate guitarist's guitar player. His performance live at Ronnie Scotts... HORACE WEE."

Sad to hear of Jeff Becks’ passing.
He was always accompanied by a young female guitarist.

You can imitate Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen, Eric Clapton etc etc but you can never imitate Jeff Beck.

I'm not too familiar. Perhaps her name could be mentioned, anyone? Thank you Stephen.

Does Tal Wilkenfeld still play with Jeff Beck?

Tal Wilkenfeld (born 2 December 1986) is an Australian singer, songwriter, bassist, and guitarist. She has performed with artists including Jeff Beck, Prince, Eric Clapton, Herbie Hancock, and Mick Jagger.

Michael Lee THANKS, Wow! You are knowledgeable.

MICHAEL LEE:
Haha, don't think so just search the internet. FYI she is from Australia if I am not mistaken.

Just two years after she first picked up the instrument in her native Australia, Tal Wilkenfeld commenced studies at Los Angeles Academy of Music. She split college for New York City wherein she sat in on local jam sessions and quickly built her reputation as a top player. An invitation by Allman Brothers Oteil Burbridge and Derek Trucks to join the band on stage at their annual Beacon Theater residency led to widespread exposure and an impressive audition tape which she sent to Jeff Beck. Within months of that performance, Tal waxed her debut slab Transformation (2006) and was on the bandstand with Chick Corea. She later joined Beck’s band for several tours,

Michael Lee she is yes. Seen her on YouTube. Wow!

I feel a certain kinship with them 😅.

Oh no, not another piece of band news!
May he RIP.

Afraid I don't, but watching the video and listening to him playing apache and Sleepwalk, he sure is a great guitarist.
