Andy Singapore 60s Photo Gallery: Through The Years

With Katherine and Andrew Tan from Katherine and The Firebyrds
(Philips recording artistes), Andy, Jenny and Michael Bangar (rhythm guitarist, from Silver Strings and other bands.)

Stephen Han, Winston Koh, Andy

It’s very rare to have tea and tim-sum and wonderful chat with not one but two iconic Singapore singers. Andy Lim better known as Andy Young was one of them and the other is Winston Koh.

I had the privilege to watch Andy winning the Paul Anka contest at the Rex Theatre more than 60 years ago, in 1959. Winston sings the popular Cliff Richard songs and toured Malaysia with the late Millie Small of My Boy Lollipop fame. We had useful chat and Winston recalled his sting in Hong Kong. I must not forget to thank Andy for the treat and driving me home. Hope to meet you two soon.

Valuable vinyl records [1960s] that cost more nowadays.
When Sungei Road Flea Market was still around collectors
 from other countries buy them... that's the reason.

The university years when I taught
engineering students from China at NTU and NUS.
Most of them enjoy the songs from the West.
With Rahimah Rahim, singing star, backstage at Orchid.

A good crowd attending the show at
the Grand Ballroom, Orchid Country Club.

When I started singing with the Silver Strings again;
with the late Bobo (entertainer, rhythm guitarist) and
Audie Ng (bassist/leader) at the Orchid Country Club 2009.
