"For four decades, Leonard Cohen has been one of the most important and influential songwriters of our time, a figure whose body of work achieves greater depths of mystery and meaning as time goes on.
His songs have set a virtually unmatched standard in their seriousness and range. Sex, spirituality, religion, power – he has relentlessly examined the largest issues in human lives, always with a full appreciation of how elusive answers can be to the vexing questions he raises. 11.11.2016. Breaking News: He has passed on.
"Cohen was the dark eminence among a small pantheon of extremely influential singer-songwriters to emerge in the Sixties and early Seventies.
Only Bob Dylan exerted a more profound influence upon his generation, and perhaps only Paul Simon and fellow Canadian Joni Mitchell equaled him as a song poet.
Cohen's haunting bass voice, nylon-stringed guitar patterns, Greek-chorus backing vocals shaped evocative songs that dealt with love and hate, sex and spirituality, war and peace, ecstasy and depression.
He was also the rare artist of his generation to enjoy artistic success into his Eighties, releasing his final album, You Want It Darker, earlier this year. Rolling Stone 11.11.2016."

Thank you Roger. Let's hope other readers will contribute too. It will provide the younger generation of Singaporeans with some information.
Greater exposure will lead the younger generation to a greater appreciation of 60s music.
Yes, and I am glad that some younger people in Singapore are doing projects and papers on Singapore 60s music. I hope the interest will encourage others to conduct more research.
This posting has been rejuvenated today, upon his death.
