John Updike - A Comparison To Elvis Presley

Mr John Updike at 76 years young. Like Elvis, he leaves footprints in the sand that others may find difficult to follow.

David Baddiel, comedian and author said, "He was my Elvis." I share the same feelings. I tasted the length of an Honour's degree thesis when I subscribed to American Literature specializing in John Updike at the University of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada. It was Rabbit running all the way!

Yes, famed for his libidinous writing as well. A pity to go at 76 years young but he was close to the biblical 3 score and 10, wasn't he?

Which is middle America and in some books to illustrate that even at "3 score and 10" the geriatric community needs spurts of sensuality. To me it's elegant prose and civilised entertainment, never pornography.
