The Blue Danube Johann Strauss II

Mr Sonny Lim is a friend who teaches at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (NUS). He is an acoustics specialist and has excelled in setting up the sound systems for many concert and music halls in Singapore, including the YSTCM itself.

Sonny loves classical music and as an introduction has recommended a well-known waltz made famous by Austrian composer Johann Strauss II in 1866.

Thank you, Sonny, for your contribution to this blog. The note below was for his students.
Dear Students,

You will all enjoy this beautiful Youtube of the Strauss - Blue Danube Waltz.

The conducting and orchestra are superb, not to mention the scenery and cinematography where the Danube River passes.

WISHING YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Best regards
Sonny Lim CY

Thank you Andy, my love for Strauss dates back when I was 10 years old introduced by my dear Father. At 7 my dear Mother introduced to me my first tango Poema. I played it repeatedly on the old acoustic gramophone at 78rpm. Just found an old remastered version from Eastern Europe, will send you the recording copy.

Also just found the Troubadors "Fascination" waltz, remember "Love in The Afternoon" Gary Cooper and Audrey Hepburn? It took me over 5 years of searching on CD, as I have the old vinyl entitled "Viennese Lantern" which was never remastered.

You are welcome. Yes, I remember Poema and Fascination, both classics and beautiful pieces too. Love In The Afternoon was a huge success for both Cooper and Hepburn.

I am glad you finally found a CD recording of the song.
