We've known of his passing yesterday... frankly most of his songs that he wrote I could not recall...probably during his time most of us are into the British music scene... I think Che'gu wrote many lyrics during P. Ramlee's era... [this comment has been edited.]

Andy, it is so nice to hear from you! It has also been a long time! I will get back to you in June after I finish with my conferences in Thailand and Vietnam! Yusnor and I talked much about the plural musics-it is now happening in the region! It was a terminology to contain the systems in this region from loosing their basic elements and their market share!

The period we worked together was not right for PhD students to take on those topics! I will mention his work at the end of the month at Taksin University that is hosting all 38 Rajabaht universities in their 6th conference! In May I will expand on Yusnor’s in another conference in Vietnam. Like wise in Indonesia in that same month. I will get back to you! Joe

Fonzz Fauzee thanks so much Che Fonzz. Yes, those were the years, yeh, yeh, yeh. Many of the Malay pop vinyl records were bought by other enthusiasts from SEAsia. ARomzi and The Hooks records, for example, are collectors items...

Andy Young i refereed a charity football match organised by Mediacorp at Woodlands Stadium in 2011. The late Sir Yusnor Ef was the Guest-of-Honour. He presented me with the certificate of gratitude after the match.

    Andy Young
Madi Botak thanks so much for sharing sir. It's interesting how even now Yusnor spreads goodwill among folks. An honorable man indeed, like you.

  24. When The Quests were at the height of our recording activity, I encountered Yusnor Ef many times at EMI’s MacDonald House. He was a frequent collaborator with the legendary Malay music composer Kassim Masdor. The only time we worked together was during the recording of four Western songs in Malay, for which Yusnor wrote all the lyrics.

To ensure I was comfortable with how his Malay lyrics matched the original songs, he patiently and painstakingly guided me through each one during the vocal recordings. He was especially proud that two of those songs—"Sunny" and "China-ku Jauh"—became hits for The Quests in Malaysia.

Yusnor Ef was a warm, outgoing, and friendly person. His loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Sir.
