She's a phenomenon on stage! She has millions of fans! Although this blog is about musicians from the past, we cannot ignore the present ones!

One of the most comprehensive Singapore write-ups about TAYLOR SWIFT. I'll put it up on the blog to carry it further. The blog is based in the US, so I am sure those guys will love it. Thanks Fred.

Thank you Brother Andy. I am extremely grateful to you for giving me this opportunity. Reading your blog have generated positive energy all day. Again, I’m appreciative of your efforts in creating this platform for us to learn more and share. Blessings to you and your family. Cheers.😊🙏❤️
"Taylor Swift - American singer, songwriter, and 12 times Grammy Award winner, is currently touring across 4 countries and has 29 upcoming concerts. It has been almost 8 years since I last watched her during, the 1989 World Tour at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. I am happy to learn that she'll be heading to the Singapore National Stadium for three shows in March 2024.

In 2011, I attended her “Speak Now” World Tour and she took to the stage wearing a sexy champagne-colored dress. Taylor delivered exactly what the crowd wanted, lots of hits. The staging was strong and the ginormous video monitor directly behind gave an intimacy to the performance that perfectly connected with the fans.

I recalled another great concert where the country-pop darling played to a sold-out crowd during “The Red Tour” in 2014. Gosh, the hype speaks for itself, and how she commanded an entire army of fans, 12,000 strong and sent us all into her Red World. The entire show was great. Taylor really knows how to please the audience by reaching out to all levels of seats and making you feel like you are important. The music was fun and everyone enjoyed it.. all ages!

The Red Tour was one night I’ll never forget till The 1989 World Tour tops it. It was even better. What a smashing show! Taylor oozed confidence on stage - non-stop fun, pure and simple. What a joy seeing the singer-songwriter leading a dozen dancers in a rousing medley of songs from this highly anticipated gig like Welcome To New York, The New Romantic and Blank space taken off her fifth album 1989, and the venue was awash in sea of vivid images of Taylor captured by mobile phones.

Today, as I listened to some of her older albums, I can’t believe I am still reminiscing about these concerts in Singapore which was fantastic!

Looking forward to her Eras Tour 2024 👍😊👍".

  1. I agree that Taylor is a phenomenal performer. I don't necessarily like all of her music, but she really does put on a show to please the audience. It's not only about the stage production values (it's top-notch Broadway/West End level), nor is it about her musicianship - she really can play. But the way she speaks to the crowd (which, let's be real, is pretty much scripted or at least, rehearsed) really engages her fans. I was also impressed by both the Red and 1989 shows.

  2. Hi Chris,
Thanks for your frank and informative analysis of SWIFT's performances.
I must agree. The voice is ok but the stage production is of much distinction.
And her engagement with her fans; pretty cool, well worth it, with her huge following.

    Not a fan of hers.
Even Justin Bieber doesn't interest me.

  4. She's good
    An entertainer
    Of Elvis standard
{Bearing with me, thinking of 60's music entertainers to compare.]

    You won't be.
As most old folks keep within their boundaries of 60's music.
    Different style
    Overall entertainment.
Now it's a lot more eye candy.
    Voice is just passable.
But she can sing if she wants to.

What I find interesting are her lyrics behind her melodies.
    With serious meaningful thoughts
Coming from a young lady of her age and stature.

Singapore is, however, a little more than just a touring destination for Swift, as her mother, Andrea, spent a large part of her childhood in our beloved Lion City.

“My mum grew up in Singapore. Her parents were travelling around for my grandfather’s job,” said Swift in an interview with The Straits Times. “It was always really wonderful to bring her back so she can see her old neighbourhood and see where she grew up. I think it’s really nostalgic for her.”

Does Taylor Swift sing 60s songs?
Or your blog isn't restricted to 60s?

  11. You read the first line?
    60s 'going away' very fast.

Keeping to old music when great new stars n songs are produced do not sound right.
Keeping up with changes, even with music, could be a positive thing but it doesn't mean you give up the old songs and abandon them. After all music talks about society and the human factor, feelings, etc.

I love her performances. They sound so alive and the lights and sound are so enchanting.
    Just my personal view.

I also like music in the 80s 90s etc. Boy bands like Westlife, Boyzone and Backstreet Boys are also my favourite as some of their songs are classic and nostalgic. In fact I do sing some of their songs nowadays whenever there is KTV meetups. So my love for music goes beyond 60s and 70s.

    A HEART BREAKING SONG INDEED:

"And I hate to make this all about me
But who am I supposed to talk to?
What am I supposed to do
    If there's no you?

This won't go back to normal, if it ever was
It's been years of hoping, and I keep saying it because
    'Cause I have to

    Ooh-ah, you'll get better
    Ooh-ah, soon you'll get better
    Ooh-ah, you'll get better soon."
