We're All Alone: Rita Coolidge YouTube by: fouchejose - For S. Wei @ Vintage Radio.SG
One favourite hit that came in the 70's and I didn't know that one of my sons loves it just as well. It was played on MUSIC AND ME on VINTAGE RADIO.SG by BRIAN RICHMOND, as a request.
Hope you will all enjoy it just as much as I do. Rita Coolidge is one of my fave singers.
Any comments about this song? Does it bring back any memories?
Andy, frankly, I did not recognize the title but to tell you the truth, I heard this song sung so many times in karaoke lounges when entertaining customers in Philippines. And I got tired of it. But Rita Collorige's singing of it brought a fresh new appeal to me. Thanks. I will search YouTube for it to down load.
Did you know Brian Richmond and all of the original Meltones went to St Patrick's School in Primary and Secondary levels? Same term. School Certificate Cambridge 1964.
Thank you Ronald for your honest and interesting comment. I have learnt much regarding your karaoke singing information. Now I understand why it is an important meeting space for business people; to relax and enjoy music after a hard day's night.
Thank you all for the comments and your nostalgic responses with this song. I know my son will be just as pleased when he knows his song is so popularly shared by others in Singapore.
These comments came within hours of its release on the blog.

This song is actually an ode to solitude. The lyrics is, of course, poetic and structured. Most, if not all, writers and painters need to insulate themselves from the outside world to produce creative work. The voice is as beautiful as the singer. It conveys the message of the song in a relaxed soothing manner.
Beautiful reaction indeed. A poem in itself. There's been lots of comments about this song. I didn't expect so many though. Yours I think clearly explains, as yours always does, what it's all about.
Song lyrics, as in life, have many layers of meaning. It's just up to us to interpret it in whichever way we want. Mostly the interpretation holds good. Some don't.

New to me.
ReplyDeleteAlso a Frankie Valli song from 1976. My opinion, Coolidge has the best version. It must be sung by a lady.
ReplyDeleteI know this great singer Rita Coolidge, she is a legend.

Yes, it's ben a while since I heard it, though for some reason I never realised that was the title.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's Rita Collidge's hit.
ReplyDeleteAnother of her well known hit is: "Your Love Has Lifted Me Higher and Higher."
Of course, another hit same song also by Bozz Scaggs.
ReplyDeleteI love it, including, "I am Woman".
ReplyDeleteReminds me when I was tearing around Manila in my father in law's car.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Philippines female singer's version that was just great.

Hi Andy,
ReplyDeleteNever knew the title of this song... until now.😊
What's worse, I thought one of the lines of this song was, "close the window come alive..."🤭
Hi Jimmy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the response.
Yes, lovely song.
I heard the same until I checked the lyrics.😅
I wasn't sure I sent it earlier.
Forgot it too until my son told me it was his favourite.
Thanks so much.
