Peggy Tann sings 'Rindu Oh Rindu', Malay version of 'Send Me A Pillow'. Video by Sonny Sendu from Henri Gann. Peggy Tann Story: Click Labels.
"Send Me A Pillow To Dream On" is a beautiful nostalgia piece but this time in Malay by Peggy Tann. It is significant that the 1960's had songs imported from the West but sung in SEAsia in different local languages and dialects. Peggy Tann's version is one of many.
Beautiful serenading song. You don't have to understand the language to enjoy the song. This some regardless of language sounds beautiful when rendered well. Cheerio
Wow Andy ! Numero Uno on Peggy’s Song ? She still has her fans. Don’t forget to listen to the Spotify list I had compiled on the Songs of Peggy. ReplyDeleteThanks, Michael. You are always the expert and I must agree with you wholeheartedly about a well-written music piece.👍
ReplyDeleteDear Andy,
ReplyDeleteHow could I ever forget you?
They wonder how did I get to be The Gramophone Man on the Internet? I tell them you put me there.
I do well remember Peggy Tann and her awesome (as in great) voice.
It's very good considering it was recorded during that period. Everything was in tune. Good voice.
ReplyDeleteBut I didn't like tHe visuals at all. It doesn't fit the feeling of the song.
Thanks Henry, for video, that's beautiful. First time I hear this song. Will put it up.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY EASTER TO YOU AND FAMILY. 🐥🐇
