Jesus Was Betrayed By Judas. Not On Facebook?

Image from: http://www.quoteflicker.com/2016/06/jesus.html  Thank You.
Sent by Michael Bangar on WhatsApp.

Now that's really something to think about. It's nice to have many friends but perhaps 2 or 3 sincere ones are enough. Or maybe, just 5 to match the number of fingers on one hand?

A) Betrayal:

Luke 22 Bible New International Version (NIV)

Judas Agrees To To Betray Jesus:

22 Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching:

2  and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people.

3  Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.

4  And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus.

5  They were delighted and agreed to give him money.

6  He consented and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present...

B) Betrayal:

From William Shakespeare: Julius Caesar.

"Et Tu Brute? Then fall Caesar." (Act 3 Scene 1 Line 77), as Caesar sees Brutus stabs him.

Reason:
"Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more," (Act 3 Scene 2 Line 22). Brutus says this as he justifies to the Romans why they killed Caesar.

C) Betrayal:

Theme from a 1971 Song:
The Temptations: Smiling Faces Sometimes Album.
Lyrics are about backstabbing, where a friend plays another friend out.
Smiling faces sometimes
Pretend to be your friend

Smiling faces show no traces
Of the evil that lurks within (can you dig it?)

Smiling faces, smiling faces tell lies and I got proof.
The truth is in the eye 'cause the eyes don't lie, amen.

That hides the snake (can you dig it, can you dig it?

Your enemy won't do you no harm, 'cause you'll know where he's comin' from

Don't let the handshake and the smile fool ya.
Take my advice I'm only tryin' to school ya.

    Hi Andy -

A humble philosophy I lived by - Let your acquaintance be many and treasure your true friends who are the elixir of life but there will not be many. However, a bad friend is better than a good enemy. The former may save you but the later will kill you. Cheerio have a nice weekend.

  3. Hi Mike, thank you for the words of wisdom. At my age, I'm still learning. The shocked question from Caesar to Brutus still rings in my ears.

PART OF LIFE, LIKE SNAKES ON THE FIELD, THEY DEVOUR YOUR GOODNESS.
BUT GUARDIAN ANGELS HELP TO SWIPE THEM OFF THE PLANET.

    Hi Andy -

I said this is a philosophy I lived by but the words of wisdom are from wisemen thousand of years ago and not my own.

    Cheerio

I think what the 12 meant... is that. You are betrayed usuaĺly by the people closest to you thus the saying, stay close to your enemies and even closer to your friends..for it is them. Who will betray you

    Hi Jimmy -

Not sure about - you are betrayed usually by people closest you - I would rather say people closest to you have the best chance to betray you since they know you very well. In my humble opinion, the person whom you can trust best in this world is yourself.

    Cheerio

About the song by THE TEMPTATIONS, lyrics come close to what you both are discussing. I welcome comments about the song SMILING FACES SOMETIMES.

A CHAT BETWEEN MICHAEL* AND JIMMY

    Hi Andy and Jimmy -
*From the song -Your enemy won’t do you no harm ‘cause you’ll know where he’s comin’ from. Here is my humble one-liner - It is better to have a friend who is good but not always nice than one that is always nice but not good. Cheerio

    very buddha Michael. Haha

*Hi, Jimmy Humble me is just using the brain God gave me. Cheerio

    well said, my dear friend.

*Hi, Jimmy Just like you, you are playing good music with the talent you got - something I like but can't do other than making some noise with my guitar. Cheerio

bet you are pretty good..come to play with me next year when I am in town

*Hi, Jimmy, It is almost 4 am after my early morning coffee break. Going back to sleep. You have a nice weekend. Take care bro. Cheerio

thanks for the chat. Have a nice sleep.

    ANDY:
Thank you both for the interesting chat. It's obvious that having a friend on FB is an advantage. Let's hope we three can meet in person one of these days. Appreciate you both took some time for a pleasant tete-a-tete, a favourite pastime of mine.

  16. He is actually. I like him because he responds to postings with much sincerity, no bravado; he writes about what he feels.

Not easy though, especially on FB. Anyway... thank you both. Keep postings real.

Again to all others who wrote in, THANKS VERY MUCH. Hot topic and so many comments within a day.

    Hi Jimmy,

Depends on which side of the coin you are looking. I am known as a crazy eccentric certified idiot. Some people don't like me for being such while others say the won't like me if I am not. Haha Cheerio

  18. You are neither crazy nor an eccentric idiot. I like you for what you are. Thanks again, Michael. I guess we'll just end everything here. Appreciate the trouble you took to write in.

Time. Yes. Time, in my opinion, is still the best barometer for judging true friendship. Often we hear, "Time will tell..." or "a matter of time before we'll find out the truth..."

A true friendship develops over time. "The longer the time, the stronger the relationship."

Jesus was betrayed by Judas, one of his best 12 friends.

Julius Caesar was betrayed by his trusted friend Brutus.

It is extremely hard to judge someone, his character, motive or actions. Only time will tell.
