ReplyDeleteHow great to have patriotic American song writers to write about their country. I wish we have such people in Singapore to do likewise. Or do we?
ReplyDeleteVery good.
ReplyDeleteHey pallie, likes great post Andy dude....'course if reminds me that Elvis idolized only our most beloved Dino...it was he that tagged our great man, "The King Of Cool"...sayin'..."I may be the King of Rock and Roll, but Dino is the "King of Cool!" Keeps lovin' our Dino!
ReplyDeleteWow ! It's a fantastic job by Ben. Look-a-like and sound-a-like Elvis Presley. As an Elvis fan since my teens, it really makes my day ! When I was very young, I heard people ( esp. the Chinese) called Elvis "the cat king", till today I still do not know why they called him that. Anyway, thanks to Ben for a wonderful performance.
ReplyDeleteThank you Andy for this sharing. Yes he is amazing!
ReplyDeleteKind regards.
Hi DMP,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visit. Yes, these two superstars certainly stole the limelight when they were around, certainly Kings.
Why was Elvis known as 'Mao Wang' or 'Cat King'?
ReplyDeleteOne website stated that one clue was early in his career, he was called 'The Hillbilly Cat'. On some of his performance tours, he was also called 'King of the Western Bop'.
Some ingenious reporter could have linked these two nicknames and gave him the name 猫王 (mao wang) in Chinese.
Thank you FL for refreshing our memory and visiting the blog again. You have been a constant supporter.
Thanks Arthur. I am glad you like the video. Ben is truly great to be able to imitate the King so faithfully.
ReplyDeleteDavid Letterman saved my boring nights when I was studying in Canada in the 80s. He had just started his own 'Late Night Show' in 1982 and I arrived in 1984, so on cold Autumn and Winter evenings I shunned the Canadian nightlife and watched him instead. He was a joy to behold with his 'Stupid Pet Tricks' segment and dumping- watermelons-on-the-side-streets-of New-York-City stunts. And his political jokes and 'Top Ten List' are legendary. Today if a personality is able to appear on Dave's show, thank the Lord above because the publicity is incomparable!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have survived Canada without Mr. Letterman.
Thank You Andy, Ben Portsmouth is great. Sounds as good as Elvis, maybe even better!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, Thanks & Best Regards.
Thanks Ron for being so supportive. Yes I think he's very talented.
