When Seniors Meet In Camaraderie And In Music

We gather at a magic spot where fresh air is the order of the day and when music even fills the crevices of the monuments that abound. About 9 senior bloggers get together for a session as teh-tarek flows. Ukelele and harmonica sounds charm the surrounds beneath the tree-lined meadows of Siglap Hill.

"O, it came o'er my ear like the sweet sound That breathes upon a bank of violets, Stealing and giving odour..."

"The man that hath no music in himself, Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems and spoils..."

"You just call out my name, And you know wherever I am, I'll come running, To see you again, Winter, spring, summer or fall, All you have to do is call, And I'll be there..."

    That's a good way for like minded seniors to keep company and spend their time enjoyably.

  4. SW loves music and attends local
    60s music gigs everywhere.

    Also a supporter because he appears in all the conerts Silver Strings have been performing in.

    Then quietly after the show, he either meets me off stage or SMSs a congratulatory note.

    Thank you SW.

    Next time, you guys should hang out in the basement of Esplanade where the kids are now... the acoustics are good and you will have an appreciative audience.

    I can think of 3 things which Eunos bus interchange's NTWU canteen has and Esplanade doesn't:

    1. Accessibility by public transport - MRT/buses;

    2. Male/female toilets within a stone's throw.

    3. Cheap food & drinks at hand.

    Besides, Laudies (Chun See's term for oldies) don't need an appreciative audience - we appreciate each other. :p

    Cheers,
    Victor.

    Hey, hey, hey. We made a lot of music at this MRT Station and the crowd accepted us. Cheers. It was 2011, with DICK YIP, JAMES SEAH, etc.
