Goodbye James, You Tried Your Best. We Love You.

James Choa: Keyboardist with The Flamingos and singer with The Gaylads has passed on. He was one of the key figures who appeared very early in Singapore's pop music history. James was active since the mid-50s with the combo and singing quartet.

So sad to hear about James. But he's been sickly for so long.

Please pass along my deepest sympathy to his family.

    Old Friend.

  8. Thank you Evelyn, We will all miss him dearly.

His phone call every other week, after I bought him a thumb-drive was, "When are we going to do our recording?"

"Way up in space together, conquerers of the stars..."

  10. Thank you again Evelyn for your quick response. The line is from the song, 'Fireball XL5' which I introduced to James and which he loved so much.

You must be one of James' close associate or long time admirer.

And from your name I gather you to be Nyonya Wee?
