The Silver Strings and everyone else had a post-VivoCity ReUnion lunch in November 2008 to celebrate the success of the show on 8th November.
Image lineup: Audie (Bass/Boss), Aloysius ( EGuitar), Jerry Fernandez (MC), Veronica Young (Vocals), Bobo (EGuitar), Mike (Vocals), Danny Boy (Drums), Andy Young (Vocals), Herb (Vocals), Louis (sitting: 2nd Drums).
Heigh, ho, a nanny nanny go. What a group. Silver linings all the way.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you people re-connecting with one another again. The ties forged in the distant past are still strong. Hope another performance looms in the near future?
ReplyDeleteFaded glory? No, just a way to exercise stiffening fingers and muscle tight vocal chords. But the ears could deteriorate faster. Rock music hurts you know.
ReplyDeleteBut they'll rock to the grave.
Like Harley bikers, this is an energetic and effective group that makes seniors have a penchant for life, something to live for and to remember by. Long live 60s music.
ReplyDeleteI met Shirley Nair in 1967 at the R&R hotel I was staying at in Singapore. Shirley was singing with "The Silver Strings" and they were playing at the hotel at that time. She was a very nice person can you tell me what happebed to her.

It is true she is of pleasant disposition as I had met her, if only for a brief moment, in the mid-sixties. She had passed away since.
ReplyDeleteGod bless Shirley Nair.
Andy
I MUST THANK BIG DADDY FOR HELPING TO LOOK AFTER MY BLOG, REALLY GRATEFUL.
ReplyDeleteCHEERS,

Andy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info even though it wasn't what I wanted to hear. I was hoping to contact Shirley just to say thank you and to let her know she was still remembered and appreciated after all these years. Would you happen to know when and how she died?
God bless Shirley and God bless you to.
John
Thank you for writing again but I have absolutely no idea.
ReplyDeleteAndy
Shirley Nair will definitely appreciate the fact that she is remembered after all these years and her songs will live forever in our memory.
ReplyDeleteI came across a blog comment some time ago that she passed away from cancer.
ReplyDeleteThanks 'stranger' for your contribution. I received similar information too about Shirley Nair's ailment.
