In the 1970s he joined “The Establishment” which included Benson Francis (Stephen Francis’ brother), Sunny, Johnny and Raymond. Alan is now with “Locomotion”, band.

Alan is my childhood friend who taught me how to play the guitar in my school days. He was a frequent visitor to my Margaret Drive home and got to know my mum, sister Irene and brother Sonny well.

Alan is known for his friendliness and generosity. When he was based in Taipei performing with the band called “The Does”, he gave my mum and Sonny’s family a warm welcome and unforgettable hospitality when they visited the city.

Cheers CHARLIE YAP [LOCOMOTION DANCE BAND LEADER]noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3574244939174327228.post-88828120607409117512023-03-08T19:34:10.671+08:002023-03-08T19:34:10.671+08:00Irene Yap

They were guest band at a dance nite way back in the mid 60s. That event was organized by the SGTSU (Singapore Government Technical Services Union) and the venue was at the Victoria Memorial Hall. They sure stole the limelight as they had a singer whereas The Decibels didn't. All tickets for the dance nite were sold out well before hand. I can't recollect any of the songs Sherman sang nor the tunes the Sandboys played that night but the party guests sure had a great time. Rip Sherman 🙏JIMMY CHNG (DECIBELS)noreply@blogger.com
