Kylie Minogue Happy Birthday: Stop Me From Falling

Happy Birthday, Kylie. She's 50 today 28 May 2018. Congratulations!

I must say she was one of the singers who attracted me to the 80's.

Just watched her on the rip-roaring, Graham Norton Show with Spiderman Tom Holland, gorgeous couple Emily Blunt with hubby John Krasinski as petite birthday baby Kylie Minogue sang, Stop Me From Falling (video 1). At 50 she's turned 25. What a treat!

I was not familiar with 80's music until and after listening to Tina Turner, What's Love Got To Do With It, Dire Straits Sultan of Swings, George Michael's Wham, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go and Prince with his Purple Rain. I guess these songs took me across to the decade from the 70's.

The Graham Norton Show: Miss Kylie Minogue sings 'Stop Me From Falling'. At 50 she's turned 25.

But it was the chug-chug-chugging 60's number that introduced me to Ms Minogue, Little Eva's 1962 engine (video 2 below) and the new dance moves, Locomotion. Her 1987 version brought the attention I needed because I had just come home from Winnipeg, back to Singapore and listening to a new star from Australia.  Then Can't Get You Out of My Head followed by her other hits.

Never seen her in Neighbours. Could be interesting though and never too late. Love her new song. And 80 million records sold is a big deal.

Hey, we're in 2018.

Hope you have a great birthday today Ms Minogue.

Is that how she looks today, Andy? at 50? If so, I prefer her at 50 then when she first came out as a pop star. She was sort of too Barbie doll for me and I never quite liked her then; I prefered Annie Lennox or Kate Bush for their singing and looks.
Shania Twain , our own Canadian gal from Windsor is a little older (52) , and she look just as hot as when she was shaking her bootie with the New Kid On The Block . Shania was the most beautiful with From This Moment On.
Anyone, for these two gals, I would say, they are like wine... sweeter and more expensive with age. If I am not mistaken, Christie Brinkley , my all time fave model , is 64 and looks best of the 3.

Wow just read Wikipedia that her career started so many years ago. I only got to know her since, JUST CANT GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD... thinking that she is a new rising star.

Good day Andy,

Kylie Minogue songs are catchy, nice and quite right for the 80s and 90s young music fans.

But I am not one for celebrities who need to bare almost all of themselves to attract attention. The likes of MADONNA, TINA TURNER, JENNIFER LOPEZ, JANET JACKSON, etc. Voice-wise, so so! Sex appeal, a lot!

I prefer the great vocal quality of DORIS DAY, DEBBIE REYNOLDS, BRENDA LEE DUSTY SPRINGFIELD, LULU, CILLA BLACK, KAREN CARPENTER, SHANIA TWAIN, JOSS STONE and even the girls from THE CORRS.

Just their vocal quality is enough. They need not have to go to such length to expose themselves. Except for SHANIA TWAIN, who did some exposure (she need not have to actually).

Just my honest choice and view of lady singers.
Cheers.

When I saw her pix I immediately thought of Joanna Lumley. Great performance, nevertheless.

Kylie is definitely a star and sexy too. Se's got charisma. Yeah, the feeling.

My choice actually kinda rojak. I listened to MATT MONROE, BLACK SABBATH, then JOAN BAEZ; so many But I was never a fan of the SHADOWS, strange.

Too many artistes. Hard to like many though. But I like GEORGE MICHAEL'S later works; he wrote great ballads. Album SYMPHONICA was his best album to me.

Have you heard of MR MISTER? They had on three albums. Very good melodies and arrangement. But they wrote a lot of good songs though, progressive group though. Usually, the songs that are not hit are the ones I enjoy more.

Solid comments about Kylie. Thanks, guys for the time.

Like me, I'm not much into 80's music too but like most melodies you listen to, they get into your head after a while.

I hope more comments will come in for the birthday lady.

Sounds amazing. This post was very entertaining too. Thanks, my friend for the details. we also would be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at the rental event venue.

My husband likes vintage theme but I want a fall-inspired party. There are loads of arguments (funny) debates going on in our family on the theme selection. Let’s see who wins!
