Al Martino - Spanish Eyes, Godfather Theme - Gone

1927 - October 13th, 2009.

"Blue Spanish eyes/Teardrops are falling from your Spanish eyes/Please please don't cry/This is just adios and not good-bye/Soon I'II return, bringing you all the love your heart can hold/Please say si si.../Say you and your Spanish eyes will wait for me..."
In the ranks of Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Perry Como, Al Martino is one of the best. So sing Spanish Eyes today because the man behind the pop hit has, at 82 years, finally left the scene. Many of his songs are still being sung or played in Singapore and the world. Karaoke enthusiasts too would be familiar with, Volare, Speak Softly Love (Godfather Theme), Summertime, Mary In The Morning, Sausalito, Love Is Blue, I Love You Because and Here In My Heart.
Al Martino, a 50s crooner, has been singing and producing countless albums right up to 2006. He is also well-known in the movie Godfather where he played the godson of Don Corleone (Marlon Brando). With 11 top 40 Hits on Billboard, what else do you need? A great singer indeed. Rest in peace Al Martino.
